The supplied text supports the finding.
The report shows the extracted evidence: a visible email, recognizable heading, date line, bullet, or intact text signal.

What is an ATS resume checker?
An ATS resume checker is a document preflight for job seekers. This version accepts a resume, returns the exact extracted text, checks visible structure and readability signals, and optionally compares the resume with one job description. It does not reproduce every employer ATS, predict ranking, or guarantee that an application will advance.
How to read the result
Confirmed
The report shows the extracted evidence: a visible email, recognizable heading, date line, bullet, or intact text signal.
Review
Compare the preview with the original before editing. A missing signal may be a real omission, a non-US convention, or an extraction issue.
Cannot verify
Columns, text boxes, header placement, employer parser settings, ranking logic, knockout questions, and human decisions need other evidence.
Fictional sample
This synthetic Software Engineer example shows the report contract. It is not a customer result, ATS benchmark, or recommended score threshold.

ConfirmedWork Experience, Skills, Education, email, phone, dates, and action-led evidence are visible.

Deterministic capability map
The checker uses fixed rules rather than a hidden model opinion. That makes each result reproducible from the same supplied text.
01
Confirms whether enough words are available for a meaningful document check and returns the actual text for inspection.
02
Looks for an email address and a US-style phone number in extracted text. International phone formats remain a manual check.
03
Detects familiar headings such as Work Experience, Skills, Education, Summary, Projects, and Certifications.
04
Checks whether dates and scannable bullet or action-led evidence lines survive extraction.
05
Flags broken replacement characters, hidden controls, dense blocks, and heavy decorative-symbol use for review.
06
Reuses the deterministic Matcher to separate direct support, adjacent evidence, gaps, and hard requirements.
File scenarios
Text PDF
Selectable text is a good starting point. Still inspect whether columns, sidebars, headers, and page breaks produced the intended sequence.
DOCX
DOCX text can extract cleanly while fonts, page breaks, tables, or columns shift between software environments.
Screenshot or scan
Review names, dates, punctuation, numbers, and technical terms closely. A cropped, skewed, blurry, or multi-page image can lose content.
Job-specific application
First confirm the document can be read. Then add the target posting to inspect which job priorities have direct resume evidence.
How it works
Pasted text stays in the browser. Uploaded files use the production PDF, DOCX, plain-text, or OCR extraction path.
The report shows what was read instead of hiding the input behind a score.
Rules examine contact text, common headings, dates, evidence lines, density, and character integrity.
Confirmed signals, review items, and untestable employer-specific factors never collapse into one percentage.
Best input
Check the exact PDF or DOCX you plan to submit. A resume inside an editor can behave differently after export.
Privacy
The original upload is discarded after extraction. Pasted text stays local. OCR uses the configured provider only when needed for extraction.

It extracts or receives the resume text, shows that text back to you, and runs deterministic checks for readable content, common section headings, visible contact details, dates, evidence lines, dense text blocks, and broken or decorative characters. It also names layout and employer-specific factors it cannot verify.
No universal percentage is shown. The report counts confirmed document checks, items that need your review, and factors that plain-text extraction cannot verify. If you add a job description, the optional comparison reports how many prioritized job signals have direct resume evidence; that count is not an employer ATS score.
No. Employers use different applicant tracking systems, parser versions, settings, knockout questions, ranking rules, and human review processes. This tool can help you inspect the supplied file and its extracted text, but it cannot reproduce every employer configuration or guarantee a hiring outcome.
You can upload PDF, DOCX, TXT, Markdown, PNG, JPG, or JPEG files up to 10 MB, or paste resume text. Clear text-based PDFs and DOCX files usually extract most cleanly. Images and image-only PDFs depend on the configured OCR provider.
The preview exposes the text and reading order available to the checker. Compare it with the original document: confirm the name, contact details, headings, dates, technical terms, bullets, and role order. Missing, duplicated, garbled, or scrambled content is more actionable than a black-box score.
No. A resume alone is enough for the document-readability checks. Add one complete job description only when you also want the existing Evidence Matcher to separate direct support, adjacent experience, missing evidence, and unverified hard requirements.
The application processes the file in memory to extract text and discards the original upload after extraction. Pasted text is checked locally in your browser. Image OCR can send the image or image-only PDF to the configured OCR provider solely for text extraction. This checker does not save the resume or job description.
Run the ATS readability report without an account, inspect the extracted text, and continue to the full analyzer only when you need a deeper career reading.
