Technical resume template
This single-column template keeps verified skills near the top, gives technical work the most space, and preserves a direct top-to-bottom reading order in both PDF and DOCX.
The preview is fictional. Starting the workflow is free; the strengths report comes before account creation or payment. A finished first resume costs $1.99 as a one-time purchase.
Fictional product sample. Names, employers, scope, and outcomes are illustrative.

Evidence before adjectives
The template creates room for problem, ownership, scale, and outcome. The AI workflow may improve the wording, but it cannot supply evidence the candidate never provided.
1. Problem
Releases took 42 minutes
2. Ownership
Led the CI/CD redesign
3. Scale
24 services · 8 engineers
4. Outcome
42 minutes → 12 minutes
Evidence-rich achievement
Led a CI/CD redesign across 24 services and 8 engineers, reducing deployment time from 42 to 12 minutes.
Illustrative fixture only. Every highlighted fact must come from the user’s resume or an explicit answer.
Reading order
The PDF uses one semantic document flow. Dates share the same line as each role, while the actual text order remains top-to-bottom. The DOCX preserves the same skills-first sequence.
“ATS-readable” here describes choices we can verify in the file. It does not claim a universal parser score or interview outcome.

Download the fixed fictional fixture to check selectable text, section order, spacing, and editability. These are sample files, not a free generated resume and not a promise about any employer’s ATS.
Upload a PDF, DOCX, screenshot, or readable resume image—or use the guided form if no resume exists.
Review the strengths report, choose the goal, and map supported experience to the target job.
Keep Technical ATS or compare another template, review the preview, edit the content, and export PDF and DOCX.
Method and limits
The design is grounded in the product’s existing technical role evidence model, the user-supplied engineering references, and a fresh US-English result review completed on July 26, 2026. Repeated useful patterns were a clean single flow, familiar headings, compact technical skills, strong work evidence, and real preview or download utility.
We also checked current public guidance from CareerOneStop’s Resume Guide and the U.S. Department of Labor Resume Essentials guide. Guidance is not a parser guarantee. The shipped files remain the evidence: inspect their text layer and reading order with our ATS Resume Checker.
Technical resume template FAQ
The format keeps technical skills near the top, uses a compact evidence-first hierarchy, gives work history the largest share of the page, and removes decorative elements that do not help a technical hiring decision.
No. No template can guarantee an employer's ATS behavior, ranking, or hiring outcome. This format uses selectable text, familiar headings, a single semantic reading order, and no photo, table, icon, or chart. You should still inspect the exported file and tailor its evidence to the job.
It can help when the target role filters heavily on a supported stack or technical domain. The skills section should stay concise and every important skill should also be supported by work, project, or education evidence. If your skills list is generic, moving it upward will not make the resume stronger.
No. The Technical, Classic ATS, Minimal, and Executive templates intentionally omit profile photos. Photo support remains optional only on templates designed for markets and contexts where a portrait is appropriate.
Yes. The fictional samples below show both formats. A generated resume includes PDF and DOCX downloads after the one-time purchase. The DOCX keeps the same skills-first information order in a conservative, editable document.
No. Daniel Hart, the employers, and every result in the preview are fictional product fixtures. Copy the structure, not the claims. Your generated resume must use evidence from your own history.
Upload your current resume, review the strengths report, target one role, and keep Technical ATS selected for the final preview.
