What is a skills-based resume?
It gives skills more prominence than a standard chronological resume. This version uses a combination structure: skills appear early, but employers, titles, dates, and reverse-chronological evidence remain visible.
Is a functional resume ATS-friendly?
No format can guarantee every parser. CareerOneStop cautions that a functional resume with little work-history detail may be misinterpreted by employers or rejected by ATS. This template keeps a detailed chronology and conventional headings.
Can I use a target job title in the headline?
Only if it accurately describes your current or verified experience. For a pivot, use an honest current identity and capability direction rather than claiming a title you have not held.
Can certifications replace work evidence?
No. A verified certification can show current learning, but it does not prove production-level experience. The template labels credentials separately from work history.
