Direct answer

How should you create a resume with Claude?

A useful Claude resume workflow treats the model as a constrained editor across a larger source record. First preserve the career timeline and non-negotiable facts. Then define the target, the evidence hierarchy, the desired voice, and the omissions that are allowed. Drafting starts only after those constraints are explicit.

Where this workflow helps

Use Claude for a specific editorial job—not as the source of your career facts.

01

Long source material

Organize several roles, project notes, and older resume versions into one source record before deciding what fits the final document.

02

Editorial compression

Reduce a broad career history into a focused one- or two-page narrative without silently deleting the facts needed for review.

03

Voice constraints

Hold a consistent direct, technical, executive, or understated voice while keeping wording subordinate to verified evidence.

Four controlled passes

The Claude resume workflow

Each pass has one job. Keeping them separate makes omissions, unsupported claims, and target decisions easier to inspect.

  1. 1

    Preserve the timeline

Build a complete role and project record before shortening anything, including dates and transitions that explain the career path.

  2. 2

    Label non-negotiables

Lock titles, employers, dates, tools, scope, and outcomes that must not change during editorial revision.

  3. 3

    Write the editorial brief

Define the target role, desired emphasis, allowed omissions, voice, length, and facts that still need confirmation.

  4. 4

    Compress, then audit

Draft the focused resume and inspect which evidence was retained, combined, weakened, or removed before accepting it.

Fictional transformation

Stronger wording comes after stronger evidence.

Fictional operations leader example. The company, team, process, and result are illustrative and must not be copied as candidate facts.

Weak source line

Managed onboarding and helped improve customer operations.

Recovered evidence

  • Owned enterprise onboarding operations
  • 12-person implementation team
  • Redesigned intake and handoff workflow
  • Median onboarding time changed from 42 to 26 days

Evidence-rich draft

Redesigned enterprise onboarding across a 12-person implementation team, reducing median time to launch from 42 to 26 days.

Verification: Confirm whether the candidate owned the redesign, whether 12 people were in scope, and whether the measurement was median time to launch.

Copyable prompt

A safer Claude resume prompt

This prompt is useful when you want to run the editorial pass yourself. Replace every bracketed field and inspect the review output before using the draft.

  • Keep the full timeline outside the draft so compression remains reversible.
  • List non-negotiable facts explicitly; do not rely on prose instructions alone.
  • Require a change log to make editorial omissions visible.

TASK
Create a focused resume that preserves the timeline and prioritizes the strongest relevant evidence.

BOUNDARIES
- Never infer a metric, tool, employer, promotion, or level.
- Do not merge achievements from different roles.
- If an important detail is absent, use [QUESTION: ...].
- After the draft, provide a change log: retained, compressed, omitted, and unresolved evidence.

What the model does not solve

A model can draft the words. The product still has to protect the evidence.

01

Compression can erase provenance

A concise sentence may combine context from separate roles. The review must confirm that every detail came from the same source event.

02

Long context still needs hierarchy

More uploaded material does not decide what matters. The target role and evidence brief must control selection.

03

Document creation is not factual validation

A readable file can still contain an unsupported claim. Rendering and evidence review are different quality checks.

Claude resume FAQ

Before you upload

What makes a Claude resume workflow different?

This page focuses on preserving a larger source record, defining editorial constraints, and making compression decisions visible. The underlying resume quality still depends on verified candidate evidence rather than the model name.

Can I use several old resumes as source material?

The current upload starts with one file or pasted record at a time. You can combine verified notes into the text field, but conflicting dates or claims should be resolved before generation.

Is this page currently connected to the Claude API?

Not yet. Claude is saved as the requested model, while today’s analysis uses the shared GLM foundation engine. Direct Claude routing remains behind the publication gate until it is integrated and tested.

Does the workflow preserve my original file?

The original upload is discarded after extraction. The extracted career text and later analysis are retained according to the product’s session and privacy rules so you can continue the workflow.

Is My Best Resume affiliated with Anthropic?

No. My Best Resume is independent. Claude and Anthropic are trademarks of their respective owner and are referenced only to identify the requested workflow.

Method and sources

Product behavior first. Model claims second.

This page describes the workflow My Best Resume is building around a requested model. It does not publish quality scores, hiring claims, or a provider comparison before the direct APIs can be tested on the same fictional resume fixtures.
